No one can say you don't know your Bible! And then, comes lagniappe, the story of the 21 day wearing of the same pants without benefit of laundering challenge. Perhaps, he will repeat the test during the 40 days of discernment.

I hope that you are watching poor Eric closely.June Butlerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01723016934182800437noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3224671339660011652.post-12212442593703264822009-10-02T16:20:07.178-07:002009-10-02T16:20:07.178-07:00Anonymous is Canon Itchy! If this indeed is a discernment period, why has the Wood Man already announced his decision? Are they really "waiting upon the Lord" or is he not just putting in the time so that everyone will agree with his private discernment? We know the answer, of course, but the situation is troubling at best.

The other question I would like someone (anyone!) to answer is how many of the defectors in this soap opera have or have not been raised in the Anglican tradition. Methinks that this is a converts' movement--not that I think converts to be a bad thing, but it may just be that we're observing a phenomenon of church leapers? God isn't calling us to do the thing we thought he was, he's calling us to do the thing that we thought was abhorrent and misguided, and we're glad we did this 40-day search and come up with the hard answer. God calls us into deeper Christian service right where we are! So, sorry, Father, you can pack your bags and leave now, we're calling someone to help us in what God is clearly calling us to do."Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05346224469658951999noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3224671339660011652.post-80581880598850871032009-10-02T09:03:02.745-07:002009-10-02T09:03:02.745-07:00There is something eternally special about soiled ...There is something eternally special about soiled spirits preaching fear, difference and loathing from atop soap boxes no matter the location (I was first introduced to them as ¨religious nuts¨ while walking through L.A.´s Pershing Square as a small child...I was encouraged to always, always means always, avoid them along with anyone that offered candy bars to go for ¨rides¨ in their car.
