Princess Leia's Conservative Conjugal Bliss.

From a thread at Viagraville (sigh: where else?) following a really special piece by Dobby Ould (double-sigh: who else?) comes a few words of wisdom from a graduate of the Ike Turner School of Marital Counseling who likes to be known as “Jedinovice”. Which you’ve at least got to admit explains why Darth Vader developed so many problems a whole lot better than Star Wars Pt. 1 and those other two stupid prequels.
My wife was talking to a wife with marital difficulties. She made good suggestions to the woman in question. To each suggestion the retort was, 'I can’t do that. I have my pride.'
'Then you can eat your pride.' My wife said eventually. 'In marriage there is no such thing as pride. Where there is, there is no marriage'.
Bingo.
The natural order is unequal. Rights and Pride are impediments to salvation. Frankly they are impediments to marriage and family!
Since I can see you’ve all collapsed on the floor it’s probably best we leave things for now. Anyone who thinks the quote can’t possibly be genuine can read it here. If they must.

I’m Father Christian and I teach the Bible.

While Bishop Paul Marshall, a trained and practicing psychotherapist, remarked recently at Kendall Harmon's blog that "...it is interesting to see the character disorders displayed in these comments", he had seen nothing compared to the disorder (the emasculation of our ability to engage in mission"), not to mention the empty sterility of spirit, exhibited by Dobby and fellow commentators on the Viagraville thread.

Dobby makes the sad admission that His Master, Mr Jensen, was "tired" when he got round to ordaining the house elf as a deacon, and that Dobby wasn't even "commissioned" properly. From his own mouth, he has admitted he has no right to speak. That's why it's best for us not to listen.

While we're about it, how about a Manly Man Jesus for the Oulds and their disciples.

If you carry on reading after Ould's rubbish, you bump into Kennedy - who is his usual, priceless and precious self.

I can't decide which of the two of them is the silliest man in Christendom.

Hey,...suck it up baby. And when you finished, don't forget those dishes.

And where's your lipstick honey. Ain't you got no pride?

Ignoramouses must be extra cautious about sharing real life experience and outcomes they view as wisdom...whereas the genuinely wise tend to ignore even potentially dangerous fools on the skids--that is, until the vicious idiots cluster into cults and become threatening to society as a whole-- these, the untreated grandstanding wackos, become grasp holes and outcasts even amongst their prone! (I know, it´s early under the volcano but the mention of these two bigots makes my lava flow). Leonardo Ricardo

Let us be thankful that Mr Jensen was not "tired & emotional", Fr Oder.

Well, the problem with Jedinovice is that he forgot to start from a biblical basis.

Oh wait, he did. It's there at the start.

"What is all this ruddy talk of Equality? I mean, the way the talk over here is, you'd think Jesus was a social activist and Bible a treatise on equality.

Where do we find the word "Equality" in the Bible? Nowhere."

This is how his wife knows that Christian men have no rights and Christian women have no pride, not nowhere, not no how.

This is the word of the Lord.

The Rev. Dr. Christian Troll said...

No my child, this is not the word of the Lord.
This is the eisegesis of desperately insecure men misusing ancient texts to justify abuse. Contrary to what they'd have you believe, there is a difference.

Fr.Troll,

I admire the Stand Firm crowd for their cannibalistic instincts. Just loved the way they trashed Stephen Noll's thoughtful biblical exegesis supporting women's place in ministry. Is this a character disorder strategy at work?

Finally, something that Wallace Benn & a Roman bishop have in common.

Perhaps it is just me, infected with a poisonous mixture of conservative Evangelicalism in my late teens/early 20s; followed by several years in a monastery and then fifteen more hovering betwixt and between the cloister and the world – all that ascetical theology - but I find I do have some sympathy with Dobby’s point of view here.

I certainly don’t think he should be ridiculed for it. Indeed he should be encouraged in his theological revelation (AKA apocalypse). Remember he does have intercourse* with various fellows from the Anglicanmainstream – indeed he has been known to manfully to apply himself to Chris Sugden’s organ**. Perhaps he could spread this revelation among their number – he says of conservative Christians (he uses the pronoun ‘we’ and therefore I conclude his meaning is his own kind): ‘We are called to be servants! We are called to humble ourselves! We are called to be the least! We are called to be under authority.’ Perhaps in reminding his power hungry buddies over at Anglicanmainstream of the rightful position of a conservative Christian in society, he might just persuade them that they have no right (or no more than anyone else) to try and alter civil legislation or spend their time sneering at wider society, seeking honour among men – and often pouring a good portion of self-congratulation and self-righteousness for themselves... It is just possible that with some Evangelical zeal on the part of Dobby that our conservative brethren may just resist the temptation to write post after post that attempts to denigrate queers and anyone who dares to disagree with their version of ‘truth’ with half truths and on occasion untruth. Who knows, they may even forget about their obsession with same-sex use of wangs, oral sex, & bum sex or lady-garden on lady garden action and/or gay marriage etc. (issues that affect, at most, 2-3% of the population – yet are the subject, in some shape or form, of around 50+% of the posts that make up the Anglicanmainstream blog). In time, who knows, they may actually say sometime sensible and edifying for once. We can but hope!

So please, please encourage Dobby in his crusade against the notion that Christians of a vindictive and conservative flavour have a divine right to stick their nose where it is neither wanted nor needed. Moreover, reading the diatribe that you’ve linked this post to, I can’t help but have a twang of sympathy for poor Dobby – you get the feeling he is not a happy bunny; and as is often the case with those who sense all is not right within they put a great deal of time and effort into trying to put right (in their estimation) what they see as wrong elsewhere – usually concerning the private lives of others. Log and speck syndrome I suppose, and for that we must pity him...

*of course here I mean social intercourse.
** of course here I mean ‘organ’ in the sense of a medium of communication.

A comment at Thinking Anglicans indicates that Wallace Benn ("a God fearing and very decent Christian man, on the forefront of saving the Church of England from the worst excesses of the pink revolution and feminism") was raised in the Plymouth Brethren.

Fr. Troll,
It has been 18 days since your last post. Have you been seduced by Princess Leia? What a lovely thought.

Fr. Maxwell, my fear is that Prostate Pete has taken our friend and leader hostage and is probing his nether region!

Fr Ivan Oder said...

Unemployed Pete is at the Job Centre seeking a worthwhile position for ex-gay, ex-ministers obsessed with Prostates. He hasn't time to inspect Dr Troll's biblical bottom.

L F Antyne said...

Why, with what i assume to be a current shortage of the ordained, are there unemployed clergy, Fr Oder?

Fr Ivan Oder said...

It is not easy - even for the Church of England - to find a job for someone who can talk only about a man's anus.

Well if Fr Troll hasn't been abducted by Prostate Pete, then where can he be?

Fr Ivan Oder said...

It is likely that Fr Christian is being held captive in the Diocese of Mordor with a fake bomb around his neck. It is a common tactic of Jensenite terrorists.
