Hmmmm...

“We lack discipline. We lack the courage to call ‘a spade a spade’.”
His Grace may be right; when it comes to applying the correct terminology to gardening implements I fear many of you, my Beloved Sinners, do indeed lack discipline. When, however, it comes to calling fraudulent and grubby power-hungry bigots “fraudulent and grubby power-hungry bigots” my experience is most of you get it right every time. Which is more than can be said of those foolish enough to have wasted their time (and congregations’ money) attending Big Pete’s nasty little gathering of Pharisees.

I’m Father Christian and I teach the Bible.

It´s the international convocation of greedy and tainted souls in red...these fellas actually think they are more holy than say, Gene Robinson, Mary Douglas Glasspool, Jeffrey John and the whole of the Mormon First Presidency and the Presiding Bishop Herself...odd, that as they clammour for better seating arrangements on higher placed thrones they aren´t taking ANY lessons from the despotism falling amuck with the Bishop of Rome or from the outcome of their own thieving actions...A former Cardinal named Ratzinger took great pains to pen a letter for the encouragement of ¨excluding¨ LGBT others at Plano´s ¨Place to Stand¨ unfortunately his jesture was yet another, turns out more obvious, diverting of blame and shame at Church...stand and deliver hasn´t worked out all that well for this cluster of bigots from the Globalheaded South and the Fall of Rome is happening all over again in Nigeria, Uganda and Sudan.

Lord have mercy on those who will not or can not see their own beastily REALITY and for those who lack personal integrity and mislead others as scheme and plot for greater grandiosity.

Mindless and dangerous pompus religiouslike frivolity amongst a cluster of ¨paid off¨ fools...it´s easy to understand, pride, grandstanding and false-humility gone bad.

It's not bribery if what is asked and funded is what you want to do anyway. In fact, it's "partners in mission" Ms. Barfoot's salary and Vice Chancellor (read President Uganda Christian University) underwritten is totally appropriate. By contrast, should TEC/Anglican Church of Canada offer support, any support, a mosquito net, food for a hungry child, it's bribery. Only cynical liberals would suggest that the $$$ from right- thinking and right-believing US partners might have strings!

Quote of the day: "Fuckwits at stand firm wouldn't know poop if it hit them in the face" - from an unexpected source.

The Rev. Dr. Christian Troll said...

Thank you very much for this classic, Lapin. I especially like the way the self-righteous throng are more concerned about David Virtue's language than the fact they've been caught caught disseminating blatant lies and propaganda - it's always good to see the Biblical practice of straining gnats and swallowing camels is alive and well.

I had a chuckle at Lapin's link -well, to be honest, more than a chuckle. The righteous right in a fight is quite a spectacle. Some of those folks in the comments are so smugly self-righteous that they make me want to throw up. "Fuckwit" sends a good many others to the fainting couch. They lead such sheltered lives.

PS: Grandpère stopped by and asked, "What kind of website is GAFCON?" How to explain? I tried, but I failed. I told him, "I can't explain. It's too complicated."

I thought the word spade was a bit too 'sissy' for this group. This blokey lot called a spade a shovel!
We in Sydney don't breed Nancy boy Anglicans. We call a f***ing shovel... a shovel! We even have a 'shed movement' and we're starting a TV show modelled along the lines of the NSW footy show. We believe in keeping society back in the 1950's.

Obviously Alf Garnett's alive and well and has found a home in GAFCON!

Good to hear, Anon 2:45. Lately I've been fearing Mordor might be turning it's back on the proud heterosexual heritage (no pun intended) of men's men like Peter Bolt and John Chapman.

So irrelevant...
You pay so much-and for what?

The comments at SF are quite too funny for words. We owe both Virtue & G Griffith.

A rather rambling account involving the writer's destroyed brain cells, suggests that a photograph of Virtue in a bathing suit at Dar-es-Salaam might be a root cause of animosity.

Some priceless, as both Fr Troll and Mimi have observed. Pity Brad is precluded by banning from contributing his Widow's Mite

It's time to call a spade a "gay shovel". The Daily Telegraph reports that Big Pete has just married Archbishop Chew and hopes they'll be happy together.

Nice one Fr Hugh Jazz!

When Akinola and his mates are calling a spade a shovel, then does this mean that they are actually stating that they are sexist, homophobic, rigid thinking hate mongers?

David G. said...

I wonder if he was looking in the mirror when he said SPADE?!?

Lapinbizarre said...

So now there's an alternative to referring to them as Viagrans?

"Calls a spade a spade, except when he falls over it", as we say Up North (UK North).

Maybe someone might enlighten Akinola as to the OED's definition 3.a of the noun "spade", David G.

This is way too fun! If we could wait long enough, perhaps they all just might destroy each other in a mutual cat fight. Good way to begin the day!

Conger reports
from Singapore (wonder who footed that bill) that response to Rowan's video was "muted, with no applause" (take that, Virtue!). An audience that knows for sure which side its bread is buttered.

[Went and forgot the teenage lezzies, didn't you,Rowan?]

I'd call him a spade, but I'd be afraid he'd just sent lots of e-mails asking for my bank account numbers.
