Apropos of...

Father Christian's condition has deteriorated, although with Tamiflu and a nebulizer he's expected to be feeling much better in the next 24 hours. We'd all appreciate your prayers for him, since if things get any worse he's going have to be moved to hospital and put on oxygen, and who can tell how much mischief he's going to get up to while surrounded by people in nurse's uniforms?

Since he's unable to deliver a homily today he's asked I instruct you all to meditate on this icon by the writer / historian / adventurer / artist / musician / social commenter Bill Bottomley.

Perhaps, Fr Christian, during your recuperation you might have time to ruminate on the following bizarre events in Uganda and give your sage advise? The usual - guns, sex, corruption, hypocrisy, Orombi...

Depending on the amount of irreverence there may be one more finger there than is necessary.

Get well soon -- we need you in the saddle fully prepared to wage peace.

Prayers for the worlds greatest doctrinal warrior to make a speedy recovery. May he find Consuella of some comfort in his hour of greatest peril.

I am wearing my government issued face mask from a long number of weeks ago as I wade in here to wish the good father a speedy recovery of health.

Dios mio, is it the gripe porcina? I hope not.

For Anonymous, what about these events make them bizarre? Surely you can't mean Orombi's flying in for the 35 year late church wedding (paid for by the groom?) Or the new status gained for the the major donor bride? And you can't mean the fact that all this looks like politician courting clergy for political purpose? What about these things is bizarre...Looks like good, even laudable GAFCON practice to me. In fact S.O.P of which a lion of orthodoxy like Fr. Christian would heartily approve...or are you just seizing the first opportunity to praise these fine GAFCON folks aware that Fr. Christian is prostrate and unable to applaud their doings with true GAFCON appreciation of their motives and inclinations. Of course, I applaud you for being the first to point out the reporting of these doings and seizing the opportunity to suck up to our GAFCON friends (are you seeking office or a canonical appointment from Uganda and maybe a new tax status as its minster, civil or religious?) in which case I particularly honor your reporting of these events, especially as Fr. Christian is down and could not take advantage.

Dearest Father Troll,

I do wish that you take care of yourself. Who else do we have who so cogently speaks words to power?

I can attest to the efficacy of chicken broth, liberally augmented with green onion (scallions, spring onions) and garlic.

Most respectfully yours,

Aghaveagh
